Insurance companies will use any excuse to cut off your coverage after an accident and deny you the compensation you deserve for your personal injuries. While your first concern should be to get better, you must attend all of your scheduled doctor and therapy appointments to document and support your claim. There is no standard amount of time for which you must receive treatment in order to recover in a personal injury or car accident lawsuit, but the more medical evidence you have to support your claim, the stronger it will be. Plese remember that this is a general overview of New York personal injury law. It does not constitute specific legal advice. It is not intended to create an attorney client relationship nor should it be relied upon withouth further consultation with a qualified New York personal injury lawyer.
