Children getting sick because of mold

Im am currently renting an apartment. Ever since moving in a realize my children have been getting sicker and sicker. I have taken my child to the emergency room with mysterious growths on his leg and the others on serveral ocasions for breathing difficulties. My children are now diagnosed as having asthma. Recently I discovered mold growing in the ceiling of my bathroom on the inner side on the sheet rock. I am in the process of getting someone out to inspect and analyze the mold. To see if this could be the cause of my children sudden illnesses. Is there something that I can legal persue if it does happen to be a contributor to their illness.
