Can I change attorneys anytime?

I have a pending automobile case. The accident occurred 3 years ago. My attorney started a lawsuit, examinations before trial were conducted and a lot of work has been done. My attorney is pushing for settlement, its a low amount for the injuries I sustained, a fractured ankle. My relationship with my attorney has deteriorated because of this. Am I allow to change attorneys at this point? Do I have to pay a double fee, one for this attorney and another fee for the new attorney I am thinking of getting. Please advise the process of changing attorneys.
